Data Deletion

Kuber has no account and no server. Everything you add lives only on your phone, so there is nothing to request from us and nothing to wait for. You can delete your data yourself at any time, using the steps below.

Nothing is stored with us

Kuber does not upload your transactions, accounts, notes, cards or any other records. The only network requests the app makes are to download exchange rates for the Currency Converter and to handle Kuber Pro purchases through Google Play. Neither involves your financial data.

What Kuber stores on your phone

  • The Kuber database: transactions, accounts, categories, tags, budgets, recurring transactions, loans, investments, money lent and borrowed, Kuber Notes, reminders, money stories and saved calculations.
  • Kuber Cards: your saved cards, encrypted in the same database. The key that unlocks them is derived from your PIN. If you turn on biometric unlock, a copy of that key is kept in your phone’s secure Keystore.
  • Attachments: images and PDFs you attach to transactions, kept in Kuber’s private app storage.
  • Preferences: settings such as theme, language and currency.
  • Backup and export files: only if you create them. These are saved to a folder you pick, such as Download, and they are your files, outside Kuber’s storage.

Delete your data from inside the app

Use this to start fresh while keeping Kuber installed.

  1. Open Kuber and go to the More tab.
  2. Tap Data.
  3. Under Danger zone, tap Clear All Data and confirm.
  4. Type reset all and tap Reset all.

This permanently erases the Kuber database, including your encrypted Kuber Cards and their Keystore key.

What Clear All Data leaves behind

Your preferences, any attachment files and any backup or export files you saved to a folder are not removed by this option. To remove everything, clear Kuber’s storage or uninstall the app (below), and delete your backup files.

Clear Kuber’s storage in Android settings

This removes everything Kuber keeps in its app storage, including the database, attachments and preferences, without uninstalling.

  1. Open your phone’s Settings.
  2. Go to Apps, then Kuber.
  3. Tap Storage (on some phones, Storage and cache).
  4. Tap Clear storage (or Clear data) and confirm.

Uninstall the app

Uninstalling removes Kuber and everything in its app storage from your phone.

  1. Long-press the Kuber icon and choose Uninstall, or open Settings, then Apps, then Kuber, then Uninstall.
  2. Confirm.

Delete your backup and export files

Backups and exports are files you own, so Kuber does not delete them. Open your phone’s Files app, go to the folder you chose for backups or exports (for example Download), and delete the Kuber files. If you copied a backup anywhere else, such as a computer or a cloud drive, delete it there too.

This cannot be undone

Clearing data, clearing storage and uninstalling are permanent. If you might want your records later, export a backup first from More, then Data, and keep the file somewhere safe.

Permissions and purchases

  • SMS access: to stop Kuber reading bank SMS, open Settings, then Apps, then Kuber, then Permissions, then SMS, and choose Don’t allow.
  • Kuber Pro: purchases are handled by Google Play, which keeps its own record of them. Manage or cancel a subscription from the Play Store’s Payments and subscriptions screen.
